Miss Teen Louisiana Lindsey Evans, aka Miss Placed: It
was October, and Lindsey Evans was in the home stretch of her reign as Miss Teen
Louisiana when she and her friends went out to eat in Bossier City. The group
ran up a tab of just over $46, then pulled a "dine and dash." The problem? Evans
left behind her purse. Police found Evans' identification, and her marijuana
stash, and when the party went back (!) to reclaim her property, all three were
arrested. Charges and criminal penalties are pending, but the state of Evans'
crown is not; pageant officials, RPM Productions Inc., stripped her of the crown
immediately, although she was due to turn her crown over Nov. 1, a mere 10
days later. "Lindsey Evans has been part of an organization that believes
in opportunities when earned and consequences when warranted," said Paula Miles,
president of pageant sponsor RPM, in a statement. "Due to recent circumstances,
Lindsey has been relieved of her duties as Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2008
effective immediately." Evans still made sure to turn on her beauty queen dazzle
for the mug shot, perhaps not realizing that there is such a thing as bad
publicity.
