 Premiere Date:September 13, 2001 Description:The daily cartoon series Sitting Ducks was based on the famously whimsical paintings of Martin Bedard, who in the 1980s issued several portraits of funny ducks in various black-comedy situations (for example, commenting upon a sudden rash of bullet holes). The feathered hero, Bill, was a misunderstood resident of Ducktown. Ever the nonconformist, Bill befriended another misfit eccentric, Aldo the Alligator from Swampwood. The message was that it's okay to be different, even when it means ignoring the rules of nature and cavorting with friends who might otherwise have you for lunch.
