The one jarring false note is Paul coming to Peg's apartment in Bay Ridge on night of her first day at work. In 1960 in Brooklyn there would have been several pages of Olson, Ollson, Ohlson, Olsen in telephone book. Bay Ridge was very Scandinavian area at that time. How did a drunken Paul find her address after office hours? She wouldn't have given him the address. In the 60s, women wore hats with veils. We ironed the veil with wax paper over the veiling. Let's see that in an episode. Pillbox hats came with or without veils

This is one of the best thought out TV shows in my memory. I guess it is because I was there while it was actually happening. The whole office scene is perfect..except for an occasional slip that suggests of modern times and health matters and such but these are far and few between. I'm going tio hazard a guess that the male lead of this show will be seen in films in the future if he already hasn't. He is perfection and I have to say that goes for the rest of the crew as well!! I hope this show is on until I die!! CHEERS!!

This show captured me from the start. It is a terrific ride back to the conservative 60s, complete with non-stop cigarette smoking everywhere and a culture of male chauvinism. I love the fashions, the bullet bras, girdles on every size figure, and quaint customs. This show is superbly written, cast, directed, costumed, simply everything. I look forward to it every week. I can't stand when it goes on hiatus. “Mad Men” deserves every award possible.
