This show feels like it was written by a bunch of thirty somethings dreaming of days past, wishing they had caught that winning pass, became the small town hereo and gone on to the big campionship that no one will remember in 5 years.
I still can not get the scene of the big stud football coach giving his "Are we going to win" speech at the school's pep rally.

Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  My fav seriesPosted: 4/29/2009A review of Friday Night Lights by youngarmystud86 Out of all the series ive ever seen,this one by far hits home.Literally.Im in Iraq and from Texas,so to see the realisticness of this show makes me feel like im at home for hours at a time.I wish the boosters in season 3 would have moved the McCoys to East Dillon instead of Eric and his family,considering he gave up a college profession and dream to come back,went to state twice,and his wife had done more for the town than they could have ever asked for.I hope this series continues for a long time because i love it.Keep it up! I've become very jaded because I have watched so many good shows cancelled because it seems people prefer Howie Mandel or has- been reality stars to an actual actor. C'mon people just give it chance. Did the network purposely show it on Friday night so it would not have a chance? I think the younger people would really get into this show but they are all out living it up on Friday night. I'm over sixty and never missed one episode. We would tape it if we had to be out during the showing. The characters are all interesting and there's enough going on to keep you interested. Many lessons to be learned and many good people as role models in this show. It gets a little sappy at times but mostly very interesting. Was this review helpful? I've enjoyed the first two seasons so much--even though the second was cut WAY too short. So excited to hear it will be back for a 3rd season! I was about ready to give up on TV altogether! Aside from the shaky camera work - which is distracting and unnecessary - the total lack of originality in terms of plot was sad. We loved this show and miss watching it. It had great characters, with fantastic actors who made it believable. The writers did a great job with the direction and drama they took the story line. It has some of my favorite characters that have ever been on tv. I guess NBC is trying to be ironic and too literal by putting the show on Friday Nights so I am only able to DVR it thus the show looses ratings. Anyway, the plots are easy to follow and while they are dramatic and sometimes a bit of a stretch, you never feel like you are watching a soap opera. I love sports movies so I may be a little biased, but having this show was like a new sports movie at the box office every weekend. BRING IT BACK NBC!!!!!!! Was this review helpful?
