I can watch the reruns over and over. It's the only show I will stay up late at night to watch episodes that I missed. Was this review helpful? I'm addicted to the point of watching every rerun and every original show. The reality of the risk of death as an ongoing element of "going to work" is surreal. The element of chance makes it better than any Poker tournament. The interpersonal relationships makes it better than any romance show. The captains and their crew deserve "celebrity status" and in the offseason we should be able to follow their lives. I cry, I laugh, I scream - what more can you ask for in a television show. God bless the crews of the Wizard, Northwestern, Time Bandit and Cornelia Marie. I miss some of the original boats but I understand why you follow these four consistently. I was truly sadden when Murphy left -- please come back - you are my hero. Was this review helpful? I appreciate all that the men ( and women) do out there and I know that it has to be hard on themselves and their families with them being gone like they are. Especially with the high rate of danger in their jobs . Hats off to you all ... with that being said i was watching t.v. and a commerical came on and i was appauled at the words that came out of the mouth of one of the captains.... it was a mothers day commerical. He used the "F" word in saying Happy Mothers day. I am sure that he wouldn't like it if his wife was told that in that way. I think that was uncalled for and i can't believe that that would be put on the air and there fore that any of them would think that that was right to say. I love the show and i will watch it .But to all the mothers including the ones of all the men and women that have this job Happy Mothers Day. My hats off to all mothers. Was this review helpful? I Love that we get to see what these guys are really like. My husband and I watch together and are amazed at what these guys go through each and every time they go out. I started watching it at the beginning and it has only gotten better as you get to "know" the fisherman and crew. It doesn't play to the cameras-DOESN'T need to! It is more than gripping and compelling. This is what reality tv should be. Mike Rowe's voice is perfect for the storytelling and yes, more than once, my husband and I have amazed at the cameramen who are right there alongside these men. Was this review helpful? I thought,"who is going to watch this?" And a few seasons later. IT'S ME!! I am totally addicted to this show!! Granted...crabs...less than attractive critters! But I have officially been %&*^ed in to this program! And the coolest thing is that I am not terrified when I see them at the market anymore! Yeah...theyscared the crap out of me. No more! Thanks to "The Deadliest Catch!"

I easily sit comfortably in my chair, drinking a beer saying to my wife that I could do this. She says sure you can dear. She knows as well as I do that I dont have what it takes to do this job. Hats off to the crews and camera people.
