"The Walking
Dead" (AMC)
Speaking of AMC's zombie nail-biter, "The
Walking Dead" is about to enter its crucial second season. Appetites were
sufficiently whetted following its brief first run of episodes. There's been
some concern among its audience, which was left wondering if ... more the bloodletting
and tenuous alliances will grow more vulgar and fragile, or if Rick and the
others will keep stumbling into numbing dead ends. Going on what we've seen up
to this point -- including an epic pilot, terrifyingly rendered undead and the
core survivors' sobering realization that they won't live to propagate humanity
unless they extinguish the flesh-eating race -- there are several compelling
reasons to be very excited.
