 "Falling Skies" (TNT)

Clearly not satisfied with one network smash, "Justified" head honcho Graham Yost teamed up with Steven Spielberg as an executive producer for the extraterrestrial action-drama "Falling Skies," also unofficially considered by many as "The Return of Noah Wyle ... more." The ex-"ER" doc plays a history professor charged with leading a human resistance against all manner of no-good critters from outer space. While the series' big ratings and positive reviews flew in a bit under the radar, it's not hard to understand its appeal: two parts "War of the Worlds" intergalactic struggle and one part "Walking Dead"-style desperation makes for an overall awesome couch-potato experience.
