Some would argue that Julia Louis-Dreyfus (JLD) never even
veered toward "the Seinfeld Curse," her
initial return to episodic TV being "Watching Ellie," which
... well, some people did watch. It got a second season, after all, this
... morecollaboration with husband Brad Hall, both "Saturday Night Live"
vets. And then came "The New Adventures of Old
Christine," where JLD truly fleshed out an entirely new
character, a single mother living with her brother who was bullied by
mothers at her kid's school and struggled to return to the dating world. I miss
Christine. But, like "Seinfeld" before it, syndication is being kind. Plus, my
money's on JLD to do it all again with HBO's "Veep."
