Let's stay in Miami, shall we? "CSI" notwithstanding,
the Don Johnson powerhouse remains the
premiere Miami-based show, and is arguable the inspiration for the set-in-Miami
trend. "Vice" kinda put it on the map. Pink T-shirts and penny loafers
aside, this was ... moreand remains a Michael Mann/NBC juggernaut without peer, merging
pop culture, music and police drama like never before. It was born of a memo
that simply read "MTV cops," after all. I sometimes still wonder what Sonny
Crockett is up to today, and have a feeling Tubbs does, too.
