Hannah Montana

The vibe on the "Hannah Montana" set is one of the more relaxed I've experienced. People play around, there is a ton of laughing ... it basically has a family atmosphere. (In fact, one could say a protective family atmosphere: While I was videotaping a scene with my Flip camera,... more a big blond guy asked who I was and what I was doing. After flashing him my press bracelet, he said, "I'm just looking out for the family." Kinda creepy, yet kinda cool.)

Part of the excited atmosphere is twofold: A week earlier it was announced that Disney had picked up the series for a fourth season. So, everyone has jobs! Yea, employment! And secondly, it's the second-to-last day of shooting, so imagine hanging out at high school on the second-to-last day of class. But then multiply it times 10. As Jason Earles, the actor who plays Hannah's big brother Jackson, told me, between the show (they are shooting their 30th episode) and the movie, the cast has been doing nothing but filming Hannah Montana-related material for 14 straight months. It's time for a break ... but this is Disney, this is show business, and outside of one actor, every other cast member has a summer job lined up. Cyrus, for example, is shooting another movie (non-Hannah related) and then going on tour. And the other cast members? Well, we sat down with Moises Arias (Rico), Mitchel Musso (Oliver Oken), Emily Osment (Lilly Truscott) and Earles (Jackson Stewart) and found out about their summer plans, several album releases, tours and a whole lot more.
