Eriq La Salle - Dr. Peter Benton

As the memorable dispenser of tough love to his medical student, John Carter (see Noah Wyle), the surgeon with a strong sense of justice kept viewers riveted for the first eight seasons of the series, and his character took a position at another... more hospital that would allow him more time with his son. Since his doctoring, La Salle appeared in the films "One Hour Photo" and "Johnny Was." He directed and starred in the 2002 horror film "Crazy as Hell" and also directed an episode of NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," as well as a February episode of "ER." Most recently, La Salle appeared in the Hallmark Channel movie "Relative Stranger."
