'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' (2008-2009, FOX)

We're blaming the Hollywood movie studios for the failure of this once-promising science-fiction/thriller series, which followed the story line established in the 1991 movie "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

Lena Headey ... more(HBO's "Game of Thrones") played would-be freedom fighter Sarah Connor, while Summer Glau ("Firefly") was a sexy female cyborg aiding her. Unfortunately, they and the show were undercut by filmmaker McG's explosion-heavy, would-be movie blockbuster "Terminator Salvation" (2009), which showed up around the same time the series was on the air and which muddled the story horribly.

Our allegiances clearly lie with the small-screen "Terminator" tale. We actually wanted to see where this was going, and whether the original Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, might grace the show with his presence (as compared to the "digital" version that showed up in the last movie).
