"The Catch," 2005
Developed by Abrams, "The Catch" was meant to be a comedic drama about a
bounty hunter played by Greg Grunberg, his longtime friend
and frequent cast member on his projects. While this was a loss for Abrams when
ABC passed on the series, Grunberg was ... moreshortly cast in NBC's supernatural
thriller, "Heroes," as a detective
who could read minds.

"Anatomy of Hope," 2007
Abrams was on board as writer, director and producer of "Anatomy of Hope," a
medical drama about cancer patients. Based on the Jerome Groopman book, HBO
assembled a cast but never aired the project. We can only imagine Abrams was
also busy producing "Cloverfield" and "Star Trek" for the big screen at this
time.
