Gillian Anderson for "The X-Files"

Like Lindsay Wagner before her, Gillian Anderson is an actress whose disappearance act was so swift one can only wonder how much of it was by choice. Sure, Anderson popped up in a feature film or two (while Wagner largely went the TV movie ... moreroute), but while former co-star David Duchovny has generated personal headlines (sex addiction) along with ratings (playing a sex fiend on Showtime's "Californication"), fans of "X-Files" might just smell conspiracy (as is often the case). Her last major outing, in fact, was the "X-Files" feature film.
