Did Mischa Barton beguile or bore James Blunt during a recent tête-à-tête in the
Hamptons? According to the New York Daily News, the statuesque starlet, 21, made
a beeline for the "You're Beautiful" warbler, 33, at a James Taylor concert, leaning down to wrap her arms around
him and exclaiming, "There he is!" The two gabbed and noshed, but as Barton
yammered away, "Blunt became less and less enthused," according to the paper.
The inexplicably seductive singer, who was once briefly linked to Lindsay Lohan, eventually moseyed over to chat with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen before returning to Mischa, whom he
later accompanied to local club. But the actress ended up making an early exit,
leaving Blunt to get his flirt on into the wee hours with "with blondes and
brunettes alike."
Us Weekly, however, has a slightly different take on the evening. A source
tells the mag that Blunt was "constantly hovering" around Barton, with another
piping in, "He's obsessed with her and has been trying to get with her for a
while." But he apparently doesn't measure up to the actress' oh-so-high
boyfriend standards (her previous beaus include Cisco "Dangly Drawered" Adler
and oily oil heir Brandon Davis). An insider tells the mag she "just wants to be
friends."
"I'm not in the mood for one-night stands, even though it's summer and I
should be." So says Sienna Miller in the September issue of Vogue, which
features her on the cover in all her caterpillar-eyebrowed glory. But is she in
the mood for a relationship? On the heels of a reported rendezvous in Ibiza last week with good pal Diddy, the semifamous ex of Jude Law is now being linked to two different thespians. The
London Sun reports Sienna and her "Edge of Love" co-star Matthew Rhys have been surreptitiously seeing one another
for several months. "This is the first bloke Sienna has been serious with since
she finally split with Jude," says a snitch. But does Rhys have some
competition? According to the Daily Mail, Miller, 25, also has her eye on
thrice-married actor Sean Bean, 48, with whom she's set to co-star in an
adaptation of "A Woman of No Importance." "She is completely mesmerized by Bean
already," a source asserts to the paper. "She has told friends that she can't
help feeling transfixed by his green eyes and loves the fact that he is a real
macho man."
Has absence made Scarlett Johansson's heart grow fonder for Ryan Reynolds' well-sculpted abs? More than two months after
the prepossessing pair was spotted smooching up a storm across the country, they were
snapped lunching together this week in Barcelona, Spain, where the shapely
actress is shooting Woody Allen's latest opus.
The In Style Weddings curse strikes again. People reports actress Jennifer Morrison, who graces the front of magazine's summer
issue, and her "House"
co-star Jesse Spencer have opted against walking down the aisle.
"After much consideration, we have decided not to get married," the couple
said in a statement. "We are still very close, and we look forward to continuing
to work together on 'House.'" Spencer slipped a ring on Morrison's finger while
they were visiting the Eiffel Tower late last year, and they were reportedly
planning to swap vows in front of 200 friends and family at a Los Angeles
estate.
If Star is to be believed (and that remains a really big if), Matthew McConaughey may be contemplating a life-changing
event. No, not wearing a shirt -- popping the question. The tab claims the
workout-addicted, deodorant-eschewing actor wants to settle into bongo-drumming
domestic bliss with Brazilian model Camilla Alves, whom he's been dating since
the spring. Says an insider, "Matthew has never been so in love with a woman and
would do anything within his means to make Camilla happy, including a proposal."
