What will married life be like for Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, who are set to swap vows in an
over-the-top ceremony (we're assuming) on July 7 in France? Judging by their
Tiffany wedding registry, it will chiefly consist of finding ways to fill lots
of empty, concave space. The "Desperate
Housewives" bride and her basketball-er groom have asked for four -- count
'em, four! -- sterling silver bowls, ranging in price from $1,500 to a
relatively thrifty $350. Prefer to pick out something a mite cheaper than the
swish bowls? Try the set of four sterling silver cocktail picks for $125.
Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp are talking up their respective exes named Kate
as they make the rounds stumping for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." "We're
still very good friends," Orlando assures the London Daily Mirror of Kate Bosworth, whom he split with last fall after three
years of capricious coupledom. "But there's no denying that it had been a
difficult year for us both." The non-threatening actor, last linked to Penélope Cruz, blames their demise on geography: The
slimline starlet, who's now seeing model James Rousseau, was shooting "Superman Returns" in Australia while he was in the Bahamas
working on "Pirates." " ... We tried giving each other a bit of time out. And,
well, there were difficulties. There are in any relationship," he acknowledges.
"In our case, it was extremely unfortunate that everything was on public
display. I have always tried to keep my cards close to my chest -- while wearing
my heart on my sleeve -- but it is a really hard thing to do."
Depp, meanwhile, is coming to the defense of former fiancée Kate Moss, whom he broke up with nearly a decade ago. "I was
not good for Kate," he admits to the London Daily Mail. "But she's a strong girl
and a great girl and very smart." The megastar, who has two children with
longtime love Vanessa Paradis, adds that he was taken aback over how the
tabloids dragged the supermodel "through the mud" in the wake of her cocaine
scandal. "Let her be! I have never met Pete Doherty, but I think he has talent
and he and Kate could be great together," he optimistically says of Moss'
arrest- and perforation-susceptible squeeze. "She's got a great brain on her and
she's a good mummy."
Charlie Sheen is never one to shy away from a soundbite, but
he's sidestepping questions about ex-wife Denise Richards' breakup with Richie Sambora. Paparazzi caught up with the "Two and a
Half Men" star this week while he was out and about with girlfriend Brooke
Mueller, but he brushed off queries about the split. Earlier this week, Richards
revealed to In Touch that she and the Bon Jovi guitarist (and ex-husband of her former
pal, Heather Locklear) had called it quits two months ago. "They
didn't want to make it public," a Denise pal explained to the mag, "because they
lived through public divorces and it was very painful."
