If the rumor mill is to be believed, Hayden Panettiere has an enviable knack for attracting smoldering, easy-on-the-eyes guys.

On the heels of persistent chatter linking her to her "Heroes" co-star Milo Ventimiglia (denied by both parties and several cast mates) comes word that she has supposedly caught the eye of Ryan Gosling, whom she posed with at a GQ soiree in Los Angeles on Dec. 5 (the mag disturbingly dubbed the cute-as-a-button actress, 18, its "Obsession of the Year").

The New York Daily News claims Panettiere was dining with her mom at Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont over the weekend when the actor, 27, who split from his "Notebook" amour Rachel McAdams earlier this year, approached her table.

"They were hugging a lot," a spy recounts to the paper, "and they ended up exchanging numbers."

But Gosling probably won't be reaching out and touching the plucky, petite blonde -- who was all of about 11 when they appeared together in the football drama "Remember the Titans" -- anytime soon.

Hayden's spokeswoman tells MSN Entertainment that she wasn't even in Los Angeles when the alleged clinch-cum-digit trade took place. Instead, she spent the weekend in New York doing some stumping for Dooney & Burke.

The rep adds that the starlet left for the Big Apple the day after the GQ shindig, "so it could not possibly have been Ms. Panettiere who exchanged numbers with Mr. Gosling."

Hayden recently laughed off rumors about her seemingly active social life, which kicked into overdrive when she split from Stephen Colletti in September.

"Well, now that I'm single, it's like I'm dating every male I'm standing next to -- and possibly every female," she joked to GQ.

She also admitted to People how turning the big 1-8 has increased the amount of attention she receives from father figure types.

"I'm not really a chain dater, and I'm not someone who kind of gives herself easily. So, I think it's attracting creepy old men," she sighed, "but I guess it's changed a little bit. I don't know [if I have anyone special in my life]. I have a lot of special people in my life."
