Lance Armstrong and Ashley Olsen are doing their darnedest to make that
whole "strictly friends" statement stick. Last week, the
purported tonsil-polishing partners were both spied looking thisclose to
other people. On Wednesday night, both attended a fete for the New Museum in
Manhattan, but the New York Post says the black-clad twin, 21, only had eyes for
Josh Lucas, 36, who, like Lance, is an entire high
school sophomore older than she is. Ash supposedly "cozied up" to the onetime
squeeze of Salma Hayek while watching some of the evening's
entertainment. Meanwhile, the Tour de France champ was photographed Thursday
night at de rigueur New York club Marquee in what appeared to be a painful
headlock from a blond Ford fitness model named Kim Strother, reports People. An
eyewitness tells the mag the cyclist and his surprisingly age-appropriate
companion appeared "very into each other," with a mole repeating and
embellishing to OK!, "They were completely into each other the whole time. I
didn't see them kissing, but she was sitting on his lap at one point and being
very affectionate."
At least Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford will always have the
publicity. After a headline-generating courtship that began in October,
the perky country star and the non-threatening "Gossip Girl" pinup may be on the
outs. The New York Post alleges Crawford enjoyed an offscreen saliva swap last
week with co-star Leighton Meester, who recently told People of her job-required
kissing scenes with the actor, "Of course, it's fun. He's soooo cute. It's
definitely not hard."
Was Paul McCartney's recent cozy ramble in London with Rosanna Arquette a sign that he wants to do much more
than just hold her hand? The actress' less famous sibling Alexis tells People
the pair, who have known each other for several years, "are spending more time
together." While Alexis didn't provide any major dish on the romance rumors, a
mole tells the mag McCartney, 65, and Arquette, 48, "have been dating since
summertime." That probably won't sit well with the music icon's ranting
not-quite-ex, Heather Mills, who was said to be -- shocker --
unhappy with the photos. "Heather saw pictures of Paul strolling with Rosanna
and it made her stomach roll," a source asserts to Britain's News of the World.
"Now she wants to orchestrate a similar set of pictures to get Paul back. That
means picking someone who will make a good photo opportunity. Heather went out
and bought magazines to see who's hitting the headlines and has been making a
list of her favorites." (Hey, we hear Pete Doherty is available.)
Has Ethan Hawke long been enamored with a woman who once
looked after his kids? The New York Daily News says that for the last two years,
the actor has been surreptitiously seeing a nanny who was employed during his
marriage to Uma Thurman. "They are incredibly in love," says an
Ethan pal, who blabs that the former caretaker in question got in touch with the
star after his marital meltdown "to confess her feelings." But the friend is
quick to point out to the paper, "She had nothing to do with the divorce, and
they started seeing each other after she was no longer the children's nanny."
Hawke isn't the first big name to become smitten with the babysitter. In
addition to Jude Law's unwise dalliance with his tykes' nanny,
there's Robin Williams, who married his (they've been together
18 years and have two children).
Just because Drew Barrymore spent Thanksgiving with boyfriend Justin Long's family that doesn't necessarily mean
the PDA-addicted pair is getting serious. "She's just having a good time and not
questioning it," a source close to the sunny, twice-divorced star tells Us
Weekly. "She already did the settling-down-and-get-married thing more than once
and isn't into that right now. It's all about just having fun!" As for her Mac
guy beau and "He's Just Not That Into You" co-star, he enthuses to the mag,
"I've been very fortunate. I just feel very blessed and happy!"
