Hallelujah! All those whispered prayers and candle-lit shrines have finally paid off for fans of the vacant-eyed blondes from "The Hills." Thanks to a bit of divine intervention (or more likely, the Machiavellian PR ploys of Spencer Pratt), friends-turned-frenemies Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad have had a tearful reunion, report Us, E! News and "Extra." We know, we know. Just like you, we need a moment to compose ourselves over such a reality show miracle. Take your time. Bow down to the deity of your choice (or your blow-up Heidi doll -- whichever you prefer). OK, ready to continue? The blonde-on-blonde détente took place Tuesday night at Los Angeles hot spot STK, where L.C. was attending the after-party for her runway show. In a complete and utter coincidence, Heidi and Spencer just happened to show up at the same club at the very same time. We know, right? "Extra" says Montag approached one of its producers and asked to talk with her former roommate, a request that was quickly granted. After a brief chat, the girls "burst into tears and HUGGED," the show breathlessly relays. "Yes, it's true. Heidi was at STK. She came in to the after-party to congratulate me on the show," Conrad blandly informs Us. "It was nice of her. I appreciated it."
"Extra," conveniently enough, has Montag offering the aforementioned congrats on the fashion collection. "It's a great line and I love Lauren, so congratulations," she enthuses. Heck, even Pratt, who last week denied being behind the rumors linking Conrad to estranged co-star Audrina Patridge's hirsute repeat ex Justin Bobby (Lauren fumed that she's been unfairly branded "a bad friend, a slut and a liar"), tamped down his inner asshat long enough to say, "Congratulations, L.C." Alas, their heart-to-heart won't be a very special "Hills" episode. E! says the emotional reunion wasn't captured on camera (although a reenactment probably isn't out of the question). Meanwhile, OK! is forecasting trouble for the MTV series, with a source saying, "No one gets along anymore. ... Audrina can't stand to be in the same room as Lauren anymore and they all want more money." Conrad, who reportedly pulls down $75,000 per episode, already seems to be laying the groundwork for her departure from the manufactured drama-filled series. "It's coming to a point where I love this show so much, but I'm ready to kind
of walk away," she tells "Extra" of heading off into Next: Madonna & Guy: Fights, 'Separate Lives' and the A-Rod Factor |
