Murderers Row: TV's Killer Characters
Ned, "Pushing Daisies"

Since childhood, Ned (Lee Pace) has had an unusual gift. He can touch dead things and bring them to life. His pet dog, Digby, was the first beneficiary of this inexplicable talent. Later, the beneficiaries are the customers in his pie shop, who enjoy the freshest fruit in their desserts. Unfortunately, Ned's gift comes with a codicil: If he touches the reanimated being again, it dies, this time for good. Thus, Ned hasn't touched Digby in years. And now he can't touch the love of his life, Chuck (Anna Friel), whom he revived during a routine case in his other job, solving murders with private eye Emerson Cod (Chi McBride). With its cutesy romance, goofball casting (Swoosie Kurtz and Ellen Greene as Chuck's aunts), and the confectionary look of Willy Wonka's factory, "Pushing Daisies" is the love-it-or-hate-it show of the season, the brainchild of Bryan Fuller (who explored similar themes in "Dead Like Me" and "Wonderfalls").
