Chelsea Handler: As star of her
own TV series ("Chelsea
Lately" and "The Chelsea
Handler Show"), Handler is both a golden, twinkly Hollywood blonde and a
comic who merrily sends up the same. Her first book, a memoir, "My Horizontal
Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands," recalls a childhood through a lens of
the absurd, telling how she agreed to take a picture -- for $5, who wouldn't? --
of her parents having sex. "Seeing your mother naked is not something you easily
recover from. Seeing your mother naked and jumping from one side of a king sized
bed to the other with a nurse's hat on, while your father, who is also naked, is
chasing her with a bandanna around his neck, is reason to put yourself up for
adoption." Next treat: "Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea," which we're
buying just for the title alone. (Ramona Rosales/Retna Ltd.)
