TV's richest families have consistently entertained us with lavish plots and
unapologetic materialism, providing an escape from our mortgage-paying,
coupon-cutting lives. From "Dynasty" to "Gossip
Girl," we've long been fascinated with how the highest tax brackets live,
including a recent rash of reality shows that revel in the lives of the rich and
super-rich (with results both fascinating and repellent). Adding to the list of
upper-crust offerings is this fall's "Privileged" (pictured, left), a CW teen drama centered
on a hired tutor's initiation into Palm Beach, Fla., society. In this period of
economic jitters, viewers aren't likely to tire of boardrooms, bling or Bentleys
anytime soon, so ... show us the money!
