While visiting a Veteran's Cemetary, Wolverine's mind reels back to WW2, in the days before he became a mutant. At this point, the story introduces another familiar Marvel Comics property, Captain America. Wolverine and the Captain form an alliance to prevent the Red Skull from capturing an Allied scientist.
