'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'

From Paul Tait:

I agree that "Battlestar" has pretty much run its course. Like most TV sci-fi it promised great revelations, but everyone knows that no matter what they do, it will disappoint. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is new and exciting, just like a new girlfriend, and is still wide open for surprises. Too bad its ratings are in the pits and FOX is rumored to already be planning to ax the show!!

Oh well, a minor heartache. Soon another sci-fi show will air and we'll fall in love all over again!

From Amy Mayhofer:

Dear Adam:

You're an idiot. I'm glad we've broken up. You couldn't seem to handle the great writing and fantastic character development that make me the intensely powerful science fiction drama I am. It's a pity you count the quality of your shows by the number of explosions therein. But I guess using any more brain cells than that would be a stretch for you. Enjoy your mindless "Terminator" episodes! I've got plenty of other fanboys and girls to keep me satisfied.

Love and kisses,
"Battlestar"

From Sarita:

I was happy to read your article today while on my lunch break about one of the most underrated shows on TV: "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles." Not only is the premise awesome, especially if you were a big fan of "T1" and "T2" but not so much of "T3," but also the acting and special effects are great. While I know a lot of people check it out for Summer Glau and Lena Headey, I'm more of a Thomas Dekker/Brian Austin Green fan. Who would've thought the nerd from "90210" would turn into such a hottie? Anyway ...

I don't know if you're aware, but there's a nasty rumor going around that the show is on the chopping block due to low ratings. Do you have any idea if it is true? I hope not, because this season is even better than the first.

Paul Newman/Retna Ltd.
In Memoriam: Paul Newman (1925 - 2008)

From Clintona Hare:

I just switched on the Internet and the first item to catch my eye was Paul Newman's face and the terse statement that he had died.

I am a sophisticated 67-year-old woman, a film fan of discerning taste, not easily moved to emotional reactions. Yet I experienced such an upwelling of grief for this man whom I never met, this actor who enriched my life and deepened my understanding of humanity through the simple truthfulness, the raw harshness, the sly humor or the tender sweetness of his performances, that I lay my head down on my arms and wept sad and bitter tears for his irreplaceable loss. My heartfelt sympathy lies with his wife and the children of both of his marriages, and with those fortunate friends who knew and loved him.

As for my choice of favorite Paul Newman film, I enjoyed all of them, even those which, occasionally, I found hard to watch. But the one closest to my heart is his world weary, burnished to flawed beauty portrayal of Michael Sullivan in "Nobody's Fool," a film which I believe is destined to become one of the all-time great American Classics.

From Bob and Doris Lee:

It's been really sad these past few months with Mr. Newman on the front page of the Enquirer and the rest of those awful magazines. What on Earth did he ever do to deserve such treatment? Send sick children to camps to let them do "whatever they wanted" in the last months or year of their lives, or donate 100 percent of all profit from his food products to charitable organizations? We can all take a page out of Paul and Joanne Woodward's life.

From Ellen Youle:

Paul Newman is a part of our family history. When my cousin was drafted into the Army and in California waiting to be shipped to Vietnam, Paul Newman gave his calling card number to a bunch of the servicemen so they could make a call to loved ones.

From Karen Baker, Las Vegas:

We have just lost one of the greatest actors ever. Going beyond his acting ability, I have personally been touched by the "love of his life," Joanne Woodward. Marriages come and go, but they proved that they had "true love." He will truly be missed, but the legacy he has left will last forever.

From John Ottens Jr.:

In my lifetime, I don't believe there has been an actor/entertainer who has so indirectly or directly influenced not only my life but the lives of others in his quality of acting or thoughts as an individual as Paul Newman. He truly was, in my opinion, the greatest actor and caring individual of our time, and it is with much sadness I hear of his passing. Thank you Mr. Paul Newman for all you offered the movie world and society in general.
