Model and reality TV star Gia Allemand has died. She was 29.
Her rep confirmed the news in a statement and provided other details. According to the statement, Allemand's boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson found her Monday night in her New Orleans home after an apparent suicide attempt. Emergency medical crews were called, and they rushed Allemand to the hospital.
"Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today," the statement said. "Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side. ... Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming in another official statement once available. On behalf of the family, we sincerely ask for privacy at this time."
