Reigning American Idol winner Phillip Phillips' mother Sheryl has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). The 21-year-old singer's mother was arrested on Thursday (14Feb13) in her hometown of Albany, Georgia. Major Bill Berry of the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit tells local newspaper the Albany Herald that a police officer noticed she was driving erratically and pulled her over. She was then taken to the hospital for a blood test and was consequently charged with a DUI. Berry adds, "They didn't smell or detect any alcohol on her person, but she couldn't complete the field sobriety test... The results of the blood test could take weeks to come back." The season 11 winner has not commented on the arrest.
