America's Next Top Model winner Sophie Sumner has inspired Oscar winner
Helen Mirren to dye her hair pink. The America's Next Top Model: British
Invasion champion debuted a dramatic new look during the makeover episode in
cycle 18 of the show last year (12), when her blonde hair was cut down to a
short crop and dyed cotton candy pink. And Dame Helen, a famous fan of the show,
was so impressed with the pink look she gave it a go for the British Academy of
Film and Television Arts Awards in London on Sunday (10Feb13). Mirren tells U.K.
newspaper The Independent, "I just thought it would be fun. Honestly, I was
watching America's Next Top Model - did you watch the season where they had the
British girls and the Americans? Well, do you remember the British girl who won?
She had pink hair and I thought that, 'Ooh, that looks really pretty'. I'm
copying her, basically."
