Jessica Simpson is coming back to TV, ya'll!
But unlike her previous stints -- on MTV's "Newlyweds" and NBC's "Fashion Star" -- this time, Simpson will be acting ... albeit, like herself.
According to TVGuide.com, NBC is developing a Simpson-starring comedy where she will play a version of herself, a la "Curb Your Enthusiasm."
"Having gotten the opportunity to work with Jessica on 'Fashion Star,' and see how funny she is firsthand, it seemed natural for her to end up in a situational comedy," producer Ben Silverman told TV Guide Magazine. "She has gone through her own life journey, now becoming a mother. Her unique yet totally accessible approach to family is something I think America will love and laugh at."
The series, which is still in the development stages, will be written by Nick Bakay ("Zookeeper," "Paul Blart: Mall Cop") with the goal of landing on NBC's 2013 fall schedule.
