The top 12 contestants took The Voice stage on Monday (12Nov12), with hopeful Trevin Hunte wowing the audience, the judges, and even his coach, Cee Lo Green. The 18 year old from Queens, New York has been a voice to look out for since the blind auditions, and he has proved once again that he was a force to be reckoned with in the competition. Hunte took on Michael Bolton's When a Man Loves a Woman, and dedicated his song to his mom, whose house had been destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. His emotional performance prompted the audience and all four judges to give him a standing ovation after he belted the last few notes. Country singer Blake Shelton gushed, "That was amazing. You didn't leave anything but blood and guts up there on stage. It was awesome." Green seemed the most impressed and moved by his team member's performance, and explained, "The miracle of you is strengthening my faith. I believe that you're an angel of some sort. You're going to be a blessing in so many lives. You're going to encourage more people to be more optimistic, more open, more earnest. I'm humbled by your voice, because I can't sing like you. You encourage me in such a profound way. Your talent is immense. It's extraordinary. You're a natural born champion." Another standout was the ex-Yale University football player Dez Duron. Under the mentorship of Christina Aguilera, he impressed the crowd with Lauryn Hill's version of Can't Take My Eyes Off of You. The resident heartthrob wooed not only the girls in the audience but the men on the judging panel as well, as Shelton agreed with the screaming girls and Green couldn't help but notice the 22 year old's charm either. Green noted, "I thought that performance was impeccable. Wonderful through and through. Christina's absolutely right in saying you're the total package. You've got so much charisma, control. And sex appeal and a great voice. You don't have to overdo either one of them and that's what makes you super cool." The top 12 will learn their fate on Tuesday's (13Nov12) results show, as America will decide which of their favorite will make it through to the next round.
