Melissa Rycroft in tears after discovering Brooke Burke Charvet's cancer diagnosis

Dancing With The Stars contestant Melissa Rycroft was in tears after finding out the news that the show's co-host Brooke Burke Charvet has been diagnosed with cancer. On Thursday (08Nov12), the 41 year old revealed in a video blog that her doctor found a cancerous growth on her thyroid gland during a recent health check-up, and is now facing surgery. Although Burke-Charvet is confident she will make a full recovery, the cast members on the current season are still concerned for the veteran host. Former Bachelor contender Melissa Rycroft tells Entertainment Tonight that she had no idea the host had any health problems - and, in fact, no one on the cast thought anything was wrong. Through tears, she explains, "Nobody had any clue. We've seen her all season long, you know? During the whole days of dress rehearsal and show days and Tuesdays and you talk to her and she's fine. She's bubbly... There was nothing about her that made anybody go, 'I wonder what's going on with Brooke? I wonder if she's feeling okay.'" And Rycroft sympathizes even more with the former model, a mum of four - as she has a young daughter. Rycroft adds, "It really hits home that there are so many bigger issues and bigger things going on in the world (besides Dancing). You can't lose perspective on that and, you know, she's a mom. And that kind of gets you a little bit."
