Lifetime's hit reality show "Dance Moms" has been renewed for a third season.

The reality show will return for 26 more episodes next year, thanks to the rising popularity of the show itself and its controversial lead instructor, Abby Lee Miller.

The show, which debuted in 2011, follows the Pittsburgh, Penn., teacher, as she runs a competitive dance school filled with eager young students and their no-nonsense mothers.

Last season, Dance Moms held the number one spot for an unscripted cable series in its timeslot. The show was even inspired two spin-off shows, including "Dance Moms: Miami," and "Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition," which premiered on Tuesday.
