'Teen Mom' to Say Goodbye to its Original Cast

MSN Entertainment

Oh, the drama of "Teen Mom." And now, we've got some sad news for fans of the controversial show. According to a statement released by MTV Friday, Season 4 will be its last.

Moms Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood kept viewers in suspense last season and rallied for Season 3 -- but now they're calling it quits. Or at least MTV is calling it quits.

"Season 4 will be the final season of 'Teen Mom' with Maci, Catelynn, Amber and Farrah," MTV reported.

MTV's statement hinted that the four women (are they even "teens" at this point?) won't be gone for good though.

"They will continue to be a part of our MTV family, and we're thankful to these brave young women for sharing their stories and helping to make a positive impact on teen pregnancy prevention," MTV said.

No word on when Season 4 will begin, but here's hoping "Teen Mom" Portwood has her legal issues resolved by then. Meanwhile, there's always "Teen Mom 2" -- and don't forget, "Teen Mom 3" is also in the oven.

Thank god, and good riddance. How about coming up with a show to dissuade today's bratty teenage population that can barely tie it's own shoes against getting knocked up and furthering the cycle of worthless lazy leeches on the society of America, MTV? How about a show that'll teach them how to write a cover letter or resume, or bounce back from dropping out of school? I'm still in shock that this show was ever allowed to be, I watched one episode and it's nothing but a bad influence that probably had even more teenage girls running out to get knocked up just for a chance to be apart of this exploitative garbage.

Teen pregnancy prevention?

Is MTV so out of touch they actually believe that's what they advocated with that show?
