Katy Perry has spoken out after the announcement of her divorce from husband Russell Brand, saying, "I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again." She also told the world that all the tabloid stories aren't true, saying, "Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, 'close sources' or my family."

Perry was supposed to appear at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday in Los Angeles, which was to be her first appearance after the divorce announcement. This is no longer happening. The singer tweeted, "Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People's Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS." The singer is up for seven awards at the show, including Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Pop Artist and Song of the Year for "E.T." with Kanye West.

Perry's still scheduled to make two appearances on her California Dreams tour later this month, one on Jan. 19 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and one on Jan. 22 in the Philippines, according to her website. She's also scheduled to appear at the Grammys on Feb. 12. Her parents recently caused controversy by calling her concerts "almost like church" and saying her fans "want to worship and they want to love; they are just worshiping and loving the wrong person," while passing out samples of her perfume, Purr.
I love how there are so many people ragging on her yet none of the people talking crap can say they've had a chart topping song, even if it was with a retarded rapper, or the success that she has had. So she dresses a bit different to. Whats the big deal? Look at the get ups rappers wear or look back at the outfits of the 80's and 90's. I'm not a Katy Perry fan but I would rather listen to her music over ANY cRAP artist. I'm a musician and I got to say unless there is more instrumental work in a song it's not even music in my opinion just noise to grind to in a club.... I also find it funny that so many people want her marriage to end. Anyone who wishes that on someone deserves the same.
