A four-course viewing menu for your Thanksgiving
weekend
By Kenny Herzog
Special to MSN TV
Thanksgiving represents so much about the American spirit: gratitude,
humility, familial bonds and, more importantly, unapologetic gluttony and
remorseless television consumption. 'Twas ... more a time when adults and children alike
would set aside these first few days of the commercially approved holiday season
by taking in wintry classics like "A Christmas Story" or "Babes in Toyland." But in 2012, with cable guides
scrolling longer than the Mayflower's passenger manifest, there's an
overwhelming assortment of programming throughout the extended weekend. Some is
explicitly Turkey Day-friendly (the annual Macy's parade, various Charlie Brown
features, etc.), while a bulk of what's new and in the mix is tangentially
related at best but cannily scheduled to seize the outsized number of households
glued to their tubes.
So, in order to assist your pilgrimage through Thanksgiving's round-the-clock
TV deluge, here's a four-course menu of notable broadcasts airing between Nov.
22 and 25. Happy carving! (All times ET/PT.)
