[FlashForward] An Homage to Buffy?

Can it be a coincidence that last night's episode of FlashForward, in which a character sacrifices himself to prevent the death of a woman he's never even met, was called "The Gift?" Any Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans will remember how the Slayer heroically jumped to her death in the Season Five finale to save little sister Dawn. We might not have cried as much over a character we barely got to know as we did over Buffy, but yeah, tears were definitely shed for FlashForward's noble FBI agent.
