It's All About the Catfights

We count down reality TV's best brawls

Catfights have long been a staple of high drama, but the advent of reality TV pushed it to a new level. In modern-day docu-soaps, whether it's the divas of "Jersey Shore," "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," "Mob Wives" or "Jerseylicious," nothing sells like girls going at it -- and we don't mean sexually.

"It's sort of a hazard of doing a Jersey show," says "Jerseylicious" executive producer Alex Duda. "Jersey's the new vampire. Everybody wants to do a show on Jersey. Why? [Jersey is] like the middle child, so it's always trying to get noticed. It has to be louder and bigger and bolder. When you do a show with Jersey people, you're going to get the truth, whether you want it or not."

Clearly, the claws don't come out only in New Jersey, but take a look at TV's top 10 reality catfights. The Garden State is certainly ruling the domain!

Tracy vs. Olivia, "Jerseylicious"

Tracy and Olivia are still battling on "Jerseylicious," but their best blowout came when Tracy tracked Olivia down at Sonic. A chest-bumping scream-fest ensued, but Olivia's "tranny" hit was too low a blow, leading Tracy to spit in her face! After a moment of shock, fists and extensions started flying. The verbal hits continued after onlookers broke them apart, but Olivia got the last word by trampling Tracy's glasses.

Teresa vs. Danielle, "Real Housewives of New Jersey"

No matter where they live, those on "The Real Housewives" know how to rumble. But the table-flipping fight in 2009's "Last Supper" takes the cake. After Teresa smacked Danielle with insults like, "You're a prostitution whoo-er!" and slammed the table, she went for the full flip. "If you're not familiar with the table flip, you're not from New Jersey," Caroline's son Christopher shrugged. Teresa threw Bravo exec Andy Cohen aside to get at Danielle again during the reunion. Thanks to Ellen DeGeneres, Teresa's now armed for battle with a blinged-out bullhorn.

Reality's new catfight queens, "Mob Wives"

With Staten Island's Karen Gravano, Drita D'avanzo, Renee Graziano and Carla Facciolo, a two-way scuffle quickly turns into a four-way brawl. While the women rely on classic moves like the chokehold and the hair pull, Drita recently introduced the pre-fight shoe removal: "If I'm gonna fight, I'm gonna really hurt you, and the way I'm going to hurt you is when I'm comfortable, and how I'm comfortable is with no shoes." Word is the June 12 finale blowout between Drita and Karen could set a new standard, assuming VH1 airs it.

Snooki vs. Angelina, "Jersey Shore"

Nothing says success like a victory lap with your skirt pushed up over your panties ... except getting a cast member off the show. "Jersey Shore" diva Snooki managed both during Season 2. Once Angelina screamed she didn't care about anyone in the house, their sloppy-seconds spat turned physical. "OK, hold my earrings, please," Snooki asked, before attacking. The girls went for two rounds of hair pulling, kicking and bleeping, while the rest of the crew watched. With Angelina back for this summer's Italian season, stay tuned for Round 3.

Jenni ("JWoww") vs. Sammi ("Sweetheart"), "Jersey Shore"

Sammi and JWoww infamously tussled in "Jersey Shore" Season 2 after the girls wouldn't admit to sending Sammi that letter about Ronnie's infidelities. "If you know something, tell me, or I'll dead you as a friend!" Sammi yelled.
