On Set With 'Rules of Engagement'
"Rules of Engagement" has several
seasons under its belt and has been successful in introducing new characters, in
addition to shifting into new time slots. What's the secret and is it nice
working for a network that is invested in making sure the show is seen?
Kalyan: We ... morehave a loyal fan base. In terms of new characters, I was one of
the new characters on the show. I think the writers handled Timmy so deftly and
created such a fun dynamic between me and Russell.
Kajlich: I think the secret is that it's like comfort food. You can go out
and have the fancy dinners but you always go back to the basics. I think with
our show, where things are uncertain and there are things going on in the world,
it's nice to have bubble gum for the brain when you want to come home for the
day and just laugh.
David Spade (talking about him and Adhir): We're an old married couple but we
still have sex.
