Posen praises reality TV's influence on fashion

New 'Project Runway' judge commends show's entrepreneurial
spirit

"Project Runway" judge Zac Posen has commended fashion reality shows for
inspiring designer hopefuls to become entrepreneurs.
The designer will make his debut as a permanent judge on the
panel, replacing veteran judge Michael Kors for the 11th season. And
with many of the series' alum making their marks on the fashion industry, Posen
tells TV Guide shows such as "Project Runway" are impacting much more than the
world of reality television.
"They're in their own category, called 'fashion-tainment,' " he said. "I
think that on a very large public scale, they promote creative people to be
entrepreneurial. Not only does it create excitement for the industry, but it
invigorates people to know that they can be an artist in the world, and take
their passion and imagination to build a business ... It's just the beginning of
how the fashion industry continues to expand. It's an exciting new frontier."
The first ever teams edition of "Project Runway" kicks off on
Thursday.
