Reality TV's Richest Families

From the Kardashians to the Duggars, a look at who takes home what

Whitney Houston's family, who will appear in the Lifetime series "The Houstons: On Our Own," (premiering Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 9 p.m. ET/PT) has been drawing a healthy amount of criticism for the decision to do a reality show so soon after the death of Whitney, who passed away in February. But perhaps the almighty dollar will help the grief in some way. According to reality producer Terence Michael, executive producer of "Auction Hunters" on Spike, reality TV families generally take home about 10 percent of their show's budget per episode. This can make families very rich, like the ones who appear on the following list. Keep in mind that most of these salaries are unconfirmed, since networks are generally tight-lipped about releasing that info, but the better the ratings, the more money the family can command. And some of them command a hefty fee. Here's a look.
