The whole world knows Snooki. How crazy is that?

Women from all walks of life have been catapulting themselves to fame via reality TV from the very beginning, like Sue Hawk (Season 1 of "Survivor") or Omarosa ("The Apprentice"). For the former, it was remarkably short-lived (running time less than 15 minutes), while the latter manages to re-emerge repeatedly.

But nobody's quite taken the money and run like Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. Now, "Jersey Shore" and her spin-off with housemate JWoww (Jennifer Farley, for those of you interested in such details), aptly titled "Snooki & JWoww," is one thing; best-selling author is quite another! Yet Polizzi's pulled it off, even gracing the cover of Rolling Stone.

Maybe the reality TV road was just so well-paved that it was that much easier for Snooki to travel it and reap the estimable rewards, in which case many notes of thanks could go out to many feisty females before her.
