A&E settles lawsuit over Bristol Palin reality
show
California federal judge dismisses case after months of
courtroom battles
WENN
A&E execs have settled a lawsuit with former "Dancing With the Stars"
contestant Kyle Massey over Bristol Palin's reality show "Life's a Tripp."
After months of courtroom battles, the former Disney Channel star has settled
a lawsuit that claimed he and his brother Christopher created the original
premise for Palin's series, which eventually turned into her Lifetime show,
"Life's a Tripp."
Filed in June, Massey says in the suit that he met Palin when they were both
contestants on "Dancing With the Stars" and developed the idea for a show,
called "Helping Hands," in which the brothers help Palin meet the challenges of
child rearing while adjusting to life in Los Angeles. Massey attested a producer
illegally cut them out of the show, and demanded monetary compensation in the
suit. And now the battle is over, as The Hollywood Reporter reports that Massey
and A&E bosses reached a conclusion on Friday, and a California federal
judge dismissed the case. The details of the settlement have not been
disclosed.
