Spartacus (Liam McIntyre)

So, the biggest change for "Spartacus: Vengeance" is, obviously, the addition of Liam McIntyre as the title character. McIntyre has huge sandals to fill. Andy Whitfield really made the role of Spartacus his own and proved to fans that he was more than a lunkhead in a loincloth. One of his strong points was a commanding presence and voice that could shake the Roman Empire. McIntyre looks like a younger version of Whitfield, which is good, and from the snippets we've seen of his performance in the trailers and commercials we've seen, he sounds like he's going to be a force to reckon with. We were impressed watching him humbly speaking at Comic-Con last year about how grateful he was for the opportunity to play Spartacus, while also paying tribute to Andy Whitfield. We'll be rooting for the Spartan as he and the hordes of freed gladiators attempt to overthrow the Romans this season.
