| 10 Great Moments on 'Doctor Who' |
With the current season coming to a close, we look at the top 10 moments from Season 6 of 'Doctor Who' By Kurt Geltz "Lately it occurs to me what a long, strange trip it's been." -- "Truckin'" by the Grateful Dead. It seems weird to use a quote from the Grateful Dead to describe the current season of "Doctor Who," but, seriously, I couldn't think of anything more apt than the quote above. From the alien Silence manipulating the moon landing to revelations about River Song's origins, to the Doctor (Matt Smith) meeting Nixon, it's been a long strange trip, indeed. But for sure, Season 6 of the long-running sci-fi show has been excellent. For one thing, we've been trying to get to the bottom of the mystery of who the Silence are and why they want the Doctor dead. It's a plot point that started last year in Season 5. We're also wondering if we've seen the last of Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and her husband, Rory (Arthur Darvill)? Plus, what about River Song? Will she really be the instrument used to kill the Doctor? Well, we're about to find out for sure if they're going to answer all these questions when the season finale of "Doctor Who" airs this Saturday, Oct. 1, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on BBC America. To get ready for what will be a tense hour of sci-fi entertainment, here are some of our favorite moments from Season 6 of "Doctor Who." (BBC America) |
