I suspect they do it since good movie roles are fewer for them and as actors they still need to work. Perhaps TV lets them stay close to home or is a steady paycheck? Whatever the reason, I'm happy to see them on my flat screen. Jan 31, 2012 8:46AM The reason why a lot of the older actors are going to TV is because there aren't any good rolls for them. A lot of them are passed their prime. Plus TV is a huge money maker for the older stars. Seeing Dustin Hoffman on TV every week is some thing that is not seen everyday. The older stars and seeing there is money to be made and they are taking advantage of it. They have to make money to survive they have bills to pay just like everyone else.
