| Some cartoons are back, and some aren't (and maybe that's for
the best)
By Vinnie Penn "Batman" never really went away. Tweaked. Revamped. Camped. Ditto for the shows about Spider-Man and Superman (no camp for the champ, however; Kal-El don't play that). "Scooby Doo" has been revisited and reworked, both via live-action productions and the current "Scooby Doo, Mystery Inc." series, the latter of which airs its season finale this week. Even "Speed Racer" has seen an update and an upgrade -- at least as far as the new animated series is concerned, as opposed to the awful "Matrix"-esque feature film. What's your all-time favorite cartoon? Tell us on Facebook. But, ya see, therein lies the point more often than not: Some are best left
remembered, best picked up on DVD, "All (insert number here)
seasons!" (Cartoon Network) |
