TV's unruliest and most rebellious sons and daughters

For every well-mannered and overachieving Beaver Cleaver or Alex Dunphy, the TV landscape has seen its fair share of spoiled brats, rebellious teens and overly independent would-be young adults. On FOX's new sitcom, "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" (FOX, Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT), Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran are former high school outcasts struggling to raise their own prima donna adolescents.

After we looked back at this roll call of prime-time kids -- from whiny mama's boys and budding pacifists to reality divas and cartoon pranksters -- they, and any parents, have our sympathies. It's not easy raising well-adjusted human beings, but as these 10 indelible characters suggest, it almost always makes for good viewing entertainment.
