'A.N.T.' Cast Talks About What's Ahead on Season
2
Zendaya, other guest stars to stop by the
'Farm'
(...Story Continued from Previous Page)
Farm, I'll give you that. It's exciting.
China Anne McClain: Billy's awesome! We also have Austin North, who's really
cool. There's a little something going on with our characters. It's an
interesting season and we have a lot of fun guest stars.
What makes the season so interesting?
Sierra McCormick: Season 2 is pretty awesome, because the A.N.T.s have been
in high school for a year, so they're not as afraid of the big kids as they
were. We're still not very socially adept. We still don't fit in, but they don't
intimidate us.
China Anne McClain: When Chyna walked into the A.N.T. Farm last season,
everybody was scared. They're speaking up for themselves now. Chyna was always
strong. If she hadn't joined the group, they would probably still be scared, but
all the kids are stronger, including Chyna.
Does this mean the A.N.T.s are going to step out of their comfort
zones?
Sierra McCormick: For sure. Olive especially. She's still zany, factual and
loving the knowledge, but she opens up this season. She also has a lot more
costumes. She was big into them last season. This season, there is not a single
episode that goes by that I'm not in some crazy costume. My favorite so far was
a Veronica Lake-type '30s/'40s siren.
Jake Short: Fletcher's kind
of dumber and dorkier this season. I get it. He doesn't understand literal jokes
-- metaphors, idioms, similes. If you said, "The bush looked like a fiery blaze
of green," he'd be like, "The bush is on fire? Huh?" It's fun. Usually, I get a
big laugh out of the live audience. It's satisfying. "Nailed it!"
Is Fletcher still pining for Chyna?
Jake Short: He's definitely still head over heels for her!
China Anne McClain: Let's just face that fact that he doesn't have a chance.
Chyna does have little crushes this season, but they keep it light. My dad makes
sure of that! [Laughs]
Carlon Jeffery: I'm not a ladies' man on the show, but Cameron actually gets
a love interest this year.
Which A.N.T. aptitude would you want to steal?
China Anne McClain: I would love to have the eidetic memory, which is
Sierra's talent, because then I wouldn't be forgetting stuff. It would be cool
to remember everything I have to do -- and my lines! Just for one day.
Sierra McCormick: I certainly see the upside to Olive's talent: She never has
to study! She cracks a book once and aces the test. I wish I could do that. Then
again, there are things I'd want to forget. I guess it balances itself out. But
I'd love to be a better dancer. If I'm at a party, I can put on some crazy dance
moves. However, it's not synchronized, beautiful or choreographed like a ballet
dancer. I'd love to be graceful like that.
Jake Short: I'm working with a vocal coach on my singing, so I'd probably
steal China's ability. I would love to be that talented.
China, if we forced you to choose the music or the acting, what would
you pick?
China Anne McClain: I can't! I love them both. I've been singing longer than
I've been acting, but both have become a huge part of my life. I was blessed to
get this show, because I get to sing and act at the same time. It's perfect. I
don't have to pick!
Season 2 of "A.N.T. Farm" premieres Friday, June 1 at 8 p.m.
