Watched the first 10 episodes, EXCELLENT! Builds off season 1 perfectly and it makes it much better than season 1 and season 1 was great!

I watched the first four episodes of season 2 Thursday evening and the remaining 9 episodes Friday evening into Saturday morning until 8 am with only 2 breaks. If you like political intrigue this is the best there is!. The original British series was fantastic and the American series is just as fantastic. And it is absolutely great to be able to watch it all at the same time. I block the time out on my calendar, turn off the phone and start watching. to answer Jeffzz - The name of the main character in the original series was Francis Urquhart and he was a snake too. Kudos to Netflix!

I watched the first season previously, and the first episode of the new season last night. I have mixed feelings about this show. The first couple of episodes of the first season were awesome. Then it kind of sputtered out (some good, other episodes not so much). When people talked about the season finale cliffhanger, I said to myself, "really, it didn't even seem like a cliffhanger to me."
But I have to admit, the first episode in the second season was awesome. I didn't see what happened coming and that was refreshing. *no spoiler here! When Frank finally does his thing and talks to you the viewer at the end of the episode, what he said was way cool.
It is a really good show for the most part. Some not so much, but better than 99% of the junk that you can find on T.V. or cable. I recommend it.

Just wondering if in the BBC version the main character was also named Francis Underwood. I ask because I love that his main security guy got him cufflinks for his birthday. The camera pans to the open box of cufflinks and you see one is engraved "F" and the other engraved "U". The "F.U." was a nice visual metaphor for the character. Was that in the BBC version also?
