Searching for TV programs

MSN TV features several ways to help you find TV programming. The list below describes the methods of searching for programs and offers tips on when to use each method.

  • Use the "See Listings By" feature when you want to scan TV Listings for something to watch, but want to limit the number of programs listed or find only programming in the future. To view programs listed within a certain category, select the category you are interested in and press the "Go" button. To see listings for a particular time or date, select the time and/or date that you want to view and then press the "Go" button.
  • Use Find to search for a program by title, topic, or person. This is a good tool for finding a specific program, selection of programs about a certain topic, or to search for all programs starring a certain actor.
  • Use "See Listings for a Specific Channel" to view the program listings for a particular channel. This feature is useful if you tend to like programs on certain channels. Also use it when you only know the channel name (e.g., Discovery Channel) but not the channel number. Note: you can also access specific channel information by clicking the channel identifier in TV Listings.

Use the "Browse by Category" link on your TV listings page to search for programming in a certain category. From the TV page, you can click on the "Browse TV Shows" tab and select the appropriate category of interest. MSN TV features over 40 categories to choose from.

Note: If you don't see the category you want, you can use Find/By Topic to specify the category you are interested in.
