Golden Globes Undressed! The Best
Mute Point: Truth be told, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could have turned up at the Golden Globes wearing denim overalls, UGG boots and fanny packs and they'd still top many a best-dressed list. That said, let's be grateful that the world's most famous diaper-changers (and Ryan Seacrest dissers) opted for straightforward sophistication. Sure, it's a less than scintillating look, but when your combined star power can illuminate a Lite-Brite convention in Las Vegas, there's no need to go supernova by overdoing it on the red carpet. Angelina, who has thankfully kept on a few badly needed pounds and lost much of the waxy buildup that's lately marred her sublime mug, styles a silvery beaded Atelier Versace tank gown with a side slit that highlights her stems. She continues her relaxed approach with her trademark cat-eye liner and loose chocolate locks, which are a nice change from the cranium-tightening buns she tends to prefer. Brad, meanwhile, wears the hell out of his razor-sharp tux, but it's his facial hair that deserves the most kudos. Gone is the sexiness-draining pornstache, replaced by a goatee that, while not ideal (ideal would be a can of Edge and a brand new Bic), is a vast improvement. The same can't be said for his slicked-back hair, a sleazy 'do that typically works best on money-grubbing businessmen (Michael Douglas as Gordon "Greed Is Good" Gekko in "Wall Street") or homicidal maniacs (an ax-wielding but still dapper Christian Bale in "American Psycho").
